The Point System, In A Nutshell

  • When you get a license to drive, it is fresh and clean and has no “points” against it.
  • Points are bad. You get points when you start establishing bad driving history, for instance:
    • Speeding tickets, DUIs, reckless driving, unsafe passing, failing to use turn signals, passing a school bus, driving over private property to avoid a traffic signal, not stopping at a railroad crossing, not pulling over for emergency vehicles, and MORE.
