Safe Socializing: The Don’t Do List

  • Never, never, never post your cell number, address, or school name.
  • Never add friends you don’t already know.
  • Never communicate with people you don’t know.
  • Never arrange to meet anyone you’ve met only online, unless with a group in a very public place, and you have a mutual friend who already knows the person.
  • Never give your password and user ID to anyone other than your parents or the other adults you trust with your future.
  • Don’t post your plans for activities and trips on your site.
  • Don’t post sexually provocative photos– ever – or photos that reveal information a stranger can use to find you.
  • NEVER make threats, or respond to threatening messages.
